Forest run in Mancherial to promote conservation and eco-tourism
The Forest Department is organising a run in the forests and hills around Gandhari fort in Mancherial district, Telangana.
The event is intended to promote environmental conservation and eco-tourism.
It is being held with support from Hyderabad-based GreenSequer Foundation and is the first event of its kind in Telangana, according to the district forest officer.
Participants can choose routes of 5 km, 10 km or 30 km, with age limits for each distance.
More than 300 people from several Indian states, Germany and Australia have registered.
Water and medical camps will be available along the routes to support runners' safety.
Saplings will also be planted in their honour at Gandhari Vanam near Bokkalagutta.
