Crystal Lake Revisits Pamela Voorhees and Jason’s Early Years
Crystal Lake is a new series based on the Friday the 13th horror franchise.
Its cast and creator previewed it at New York Comic Con, where the first episode was screened.
Linda Cardellini plays Pamela Voorhees, Jason’s mother, and Callum Vinson plays Jason as a child.
In the original 1980 film, Pamela was revealed as the killer after her son was believed to have drowned at Camp Crystal Lake.
Jason later became the franchise’s central killer.
The series revisits that story and explores parts of Jason’s childhood that the films have shown little of.
It is scheduled to debut on Peacock on October 15.

This story does not have two clearly opposing sides.
I like to think there's nobody more dangerous than a mother whose child is threatened.
If someone flips that switch, there's a loss of control for her.
At a certain point, maybe it also feels a little good to let that genie happen.
