New vehicle sales in Russia rose 32.3% in Q3 from Q1

Russia sold more than 396,000 new vehicles in the third quarter of 2026, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The ministry’s figures cover vehicles up to three years old.

Sales were 4.2% higher than in the second quarter and 32.3% higher than in the first.

From January to September, sales reached about 1.08 million, up 6.2% from the same period in 2025.

Russian-made vehicles accounted for 63.8% of sales in those nine months, and their sales rose 23.4% year on year.

The ministry said subsidized loans and leasing helped support demand for vehicles made in Russia.

Sales of hybrid and electric vehicles also grew, reaching 9.3% of the new-vehicle market over the nine-month period.
