Ben Affleck Calls Justice League the Low Point of His Career

Ben Affleck says filming the 2017 superhero movie Justice League was the low point of his career.

He played Batman in the film, which was made by Warner Bros.

Director Zack Snyder left during post-production after his daughter died, and Joss Whedon took over and directed reshoots.

Affleck criticized how Snyder’s departure was handled, saying he felt the death was used as an excuse to replace him.

Affleck also said he heard second-hand about what he described as a troubling atmosphere during reshoots.

He acknowledged that he was drinking too much at the time, but said his personal difficulties did not affect the movie.

The theatrical film received a negative critical response, while a longer cut reflecting Snyder’s vision was released in 2021 and was better received.

What people are saying

That was s—-ty, him being taken off that movie and the reshoots that we did. If you want the low point of my career, it was that.

The whole environment and vibe, much of which I wasn’t privy to, but that I heard about second-hand, in terms of Ray and Gal and other people’s experiences, it was just like… ‘Wow, this is about as gross as it gets.
