RJ Mitte film paused after actor’s death, director plans to continue

Actor RJ Mitte died at 34 on Monday, and production of his upcoming film Forgotten Outlaw has been put on hold.

Mitte was known for playing Walter White Jr., the son of Bryan Cranston’s character in the television series Breaking Bad.

Director Nik Tizekker says he plans to continue the film in honor of Mitte’s wishes.

The team expects to recast Mitte’s role and is seeking more funding.

Mitte and Tizekker were also developing a limited series called Like It Was Yesterday about near-death experiences.

Tizekker says he hopes to release that series if he can secure funding.

Podcaster Joe Vulpis, who interviewed Mitte two weeks before his death, said he was surprised by the news and recalled Mitte discussing future projects and charitable work.
