Viltex enters Spain’s inheritance search business with 2,000 cases identified
Santiago Bellver and Felipe Merry del Val have launched Viltex to work in Spain’s inheritance search business.
The company says it has already found about 2,000 unclaimed estates that could be worth around €300 million combined.
This business finds heirs when people die without a will or their eligible relatives are unknown, then helps prove family ties and recover the inheritance.
Viltex investigates estates worth more than €150,000 and charges a commission of about 30% of the amount recovered.
Its work combines family-history research, inheritance law, document management and tracing people.
A 1928 rule limits inheritance rights for distant relatives when someone dies without a will, leaving some property to the state if no closer eligible heirs exist.
Bellver and Merry del Val have also helped create an association seeking to reverse that rule; no next steps are specified.
