Veneto wages lost 13.9% of purchasing power over a decade
A Jobpricing study found that wages in Italy’s Veneto region did not keep pace with inflation from 2015 to 2025.
The gap meant workers lost 13.9% of their purchasing power, the second-largest loss among Italy’s regions after Umbria.
The study examined private-sector employees and drew on about 650,000 user profiles; it did not include public administration.
Across Italy, purchasing power generally fell, with only Marche and Molise showing gains.
Veneto’s average annual gross pay, including variable pay, was 33,790 euros, ranking eighth among regions.
The study’s head of research said fewer multinational companies and a higher share of industrial workers may help explain the region’s results.
The figures cover the decade through 2025, and no further action or change is specified.
