Vox proposes more social housing and priority for Spaniards in allocations

Vox secretary general Ignacio Garriga has outlined housing proposals the party plans to put forward before Spain’s November 29 general election.

He says the country should build social housing on a large scale and give Spaniards priority on allocation lists.

He also supports easing building rules, cutting taxes on construction, making more land available and helping young people buy homes.

Garriga says immigration is the main factor affecting housing and has called for closed borders and deportations.

He blamed the Socialist Party for Spain’s housing access crisis, while accusing it of using the eviction and recent death of a woman named Maricarmen for political purposes.

Housing is one of the issues he expects to shape the election campaign, alongside the situation in Ceuta and immigration policy.

The proposals are part of Vox’s package of measures, but the account gives no further details on how they would be put into effect.
