Taylor Sheridan Had a Small Role in a 1996 TV Movie

Taylor Sheridan, now known for creating “Yellowstone” and other television shows, began his career as an actor.

In 1996, he played a background character named Chris in the NBC TV movie “Her Costly Affair.”

The thriller stars Brian Austin Green as a student who becomes obsessed with his married college professor, played by Bonnie Bedelia.

Amy Smart also appeared in the film before later roles in movies including “Road Trip” and “Rat Race.”

Sheridan worked regularly as an actor from 1995 to 2011, but did not get a major break.

He later said he left “Sons of Anarchy” because he felt replaceable and decided to tell his own stories.

His first screenplay, “Sicario,” was nominated for three Oscars, helping launch a more successful career as a writer and television creator.
