David Boreanaz’s ‘Rockford Files’ Reboot Reveals a New Set Photo

NBC is rebooting the classic detective series The Rockford Files with David Boreanaz in the lead role.

The original show ran from 1974 to 1980 and starred James Garner as Los Angeles private investigator Jim Rockford.

Boreanaz’s character is a newly paroled investigator who returns to work after serving time for a crime he did not commit.

The series synopsis says his cases will bring him into conflict with local police and organized crime as he tries to establish himself.

A new set photo shows Boreanaz beside a vintage green car, echoing the role cars played in the original series.

The first season is planned for 13 episodes, with a reported budget of about $69.7 million.

The reboot is in development at NBC, but no release date is given.
