Teacher arrested over alleged assault of nine-year-old on ship to Kochi
Police arrested a madrasa teacher over the alleged sexual assault of a nine-year-old girl during a ship journey from Lakshadweep to Kochi.
The accused, identified by police as Sayid Mohammed Naufal, is a resident of Lakshadweep, and the girl was travelling with her mother.
Police said he allegedly took the girl to an isolated part of the vessel after offering to show her the views.
The girl told her mother, and ship security detained the accused after they were alerted.
