Ethiopia and Eritrea trade accusations of invasion as tensions rise

Ethiopia says Eritrean troops crossed into its northern region of Tigray.

Eritrea denies the accusation and says Ethiopia is threatening it.

The two countries have cut diplomatic ties and have a history of conflict.

Their dispute also involves Ethiopia’s push for access to the sea and Eritrea’s Red Sea port of Assab.
