Ukrainian defense tech company raises $16 million to expand drone systems

Buntar Aerospace, a Ukrainian defense technology company, has raised $16 million in new investment.

It makes the Buntar-3 reconnaissance drone and Buntar Copilot, software designed to support drone operations in combat.

The company says Ukrainian frontline units use its technology.

Buntar plans to use the money to increase production, hire staff and develop systems for missions including reconnaissance and countering drones.

It also wants to expand beyond defense into civilian applications, but has not named specific products or markets.

The company says automation could reduce the amount of manual work required from drone operators.

Its longer-term goal is to become an international supplier of autonomous systems for multiple defense missions.

What people are saying

We’re targeting the missions that depend most on highly trained operators: reconnaissance, counter-drone defence and precision strike assistance. That’s what Ukraine needs today, and what Europe must be ready for tomorrow.
