Lagos Life says virtual billboards brought in over $170,000 in nine days

Lagos Life is a free-to-play simulation game based on Nigerian cities, created by Shalom Rayhamen.

Its first version took eight hours to build, and the game says it secured more than $170,000 in earned and contracted revenue between October 1 and 9, 2026.

Businesses pay to place ads on virtual billboards in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja.

A count on October 9 found 244 ads across 40 billboards, at a disclosed rate of ₦250,000 per ad for one week.

The game can show several advertisers on the same billboard, with ads rotating for players to see.

Running the game for millions of players costs thousands of dollars a month, so ad income needs to keep covering those costs.

Its future earnings depend on advertisers getting value and booking again, players returning, and expansion costs staying below revenue.

What people are saying

If developers spend $0.5 to acquire a gamer, then they need to show you >$0.5 worth of ads. At a CPM [cost per mille] of $10 per thousand views, it means they need to show you 50 ads just to break even
