Terra Metals reports shallow and deep mineralisation at Southwest

Terra Metals has reported mineralisation at its Southwest prospect in Western Australia from drilling near the surface and at depth.

The results include platinum, palladium and gold, which the company groups as “3E,” as well as copper and nickel.

Shallow holes returned intersections up to 200 metres long, though these are downhole lengths and the true widths are not yet known.

Diamond drilling also found a higher-grade section at depth, within an intersection measuring 181 metres downhole.

The results extend known near-surface mineralisation, which the company says may support open-pit mining and selective processing; these are possibilities, not established project outcomes.

More than 40,000 metres of drilling results are awaiting assays, and five rigs continue work at the prospect.

Terra is targeting a first resource estimate for Southwest in the first quarter of 2027, with a scoping study planned afterward.

Southwest continues to grow in scale, and these latest results further demonstrate that the mineralisation extends right to surface.

These characteristics support the potential for low strip, open cut mining, as well as the potential ability to selectively process the high-grade reef material to catalyse project economics during initial mining phases.
