Andy Jones-Wilkins Ends His iRunFar Column After 15 Years
Andy Jones-Wilkins is ending AJW’s Taproom, his column for the ultrarunning website iRunFar.
He began writing it in 2011 and published three or four pieces a month.
Over 15 years, he wrote about races, the history and culture of ultrarunning, and runners’ experiences of aging.
His work also included yearly series on race directors, ultrarunners of the year, lesser-known races and aid stations.
Jones-Wilkins says the decision to stop was difficult, but he feels it is time to move on.
He plans to focus on family, including his granddaughter and twin grandchildren expected in March.
He also says he is increasingly involved in bringing the trail running and ultrarunning community together through racing, podcasting, speaking and coaching.
