Bogor police take former Somalia piracy hostage to hospital for care

Piki Mutakim, a 25-year-old crew member of the cargo ship MT Honour 25, was taken to hospital by police in Bogor, Indonesia.

He had been held hostage by Somali pirates.

On Friday night, October 9, Bogor police and medical staff assessed his physical and psychological condition at his home in Tenjo.

They found he needed intensive treatment and rehabilitation for trauma.

An ambulance took him that night to RS Polri Kramat Jati, a police hospital in Jakarta.

The care is intended to support his recovery after the ordeal.

The sources do not say how long he was held or what further steps will follow.
