StemRIM may record 900 million yen in revenue in fiscal 2027
StemRIM is a drug developer that grew out of Osaka University in Japan.
It is working on medicines designed to encourage the body to repair damaged tissue, including a drug called redasemtide.
Shionogi is developing redasemtide for two medical uses and has reported clinical trial results.
StemRIM had no revenue for three years and posted an operating loss of about 2 billion yen in the year to July 2026.
It did not issue a revenue forecast for the year to July 2027, saying it was difficult to estimate its results.
An estimate puts its revenue for that year at 900 million yen, potentially from development milestones, and its operating loss at about 1.1 billion yen.
Preliminary results for a trial in acute stroke were described as disappointing, so the expected revenue remains uncertain.
Toyo Keizai forecasts that StemRim may record ¥900 million in sales for the fiscal year ending July 2027.
The estimate follows three consecutive fiscal years with no sales.
Toyo Keizai expects StemRim’s operating loss to narrow to ¥1.1 billion, from about ¥2 billion in the previous fiscal year.
StemRim did not disclose its earnings forecast, saying it was difficult to calculate.
The company also announced clinical trial results for its drug candidate redasemtide, developed by Shionogi for two indications.
