Bank of Japan changes terms for climate-related loans to financial firms
The Bank of Japan lends money to financial firms through special operations.
It changed the interest rate on one climate-related lending program from fixed to variable.
It also set a 50 trillion yen limit on total lending through the program.
The changes are part of the bank’s move toward more normal financial policy beyond raising its main interest rate.
