Canada launches $2 billion heat pump rebate program for homeowners

The program offers homeowners money to replace their heating systems with eligible electric heat pumps.

It will run for eight years and has $2 billion in funding.

Households below the median income can get up to $10,000, while others can get $2,000.

Heat pumps can heat and cool homes while using electricity more efficiently and producing fewer greenhouse gas emissions.
