Albertans can vote in a 10-question referendum starting Tuesday
Albertans can begin voting in person on Tuesday in a provincial referendum with 10 questions.
The questions cover immigration policy, constitutional reform and whether Alberta should remain in Canada or hold a binding second referendum on leaving.
Advance voting runs Tuesday through Saturday, from 9 a.m.
to 8 p.m., at more than 300 locations.
On Oct.
19, referendum day, just over 1,400 polling stations will open.
Voters will receive 10 separate ballots and may answer some, all or none of the questions.
They need identification showing their name and current address, and must vote in their electoral division during advance voting or at their assigned location on referendum day.
Officials expect 80 to 85 per cent of Alberta’s nearly three million electors to vote.
Hand-counted results on the separation question are expected to start coming out after polls close on Oct.
19, with results on the other nine questions expected by Wednesday.
