Rangers go top with 3-1 win as Hearts beat St Mirren 5-0

Rangers beat Kilmarnock 3-1 at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership.

Ryan Naderi scored twice and Kevin Kelsy added a goal to give Rangers a 3-0 half-time lead.

Kilmarnock scored late through Nicky Clescenco, after creating chances, especially in the second half.

Rangers’ manager, Derek McInnes, said the team’s play was disjointed after a long international break, when 13 players had been away.

The win was Rangers’ sixth straight league victory and put them one point ahead of Celtic, who were due to play Motherwell on Sunday.

Hearts remained close behind in third place after beating St Mirren 5-0, with Calvin Miller scoring two penalties.

Hearts were next due to play Nordsjaelland in their Conference League opener on Thursday.
