Corinthians fans protest and call for judicial intervention in club management

Corinthians fans gathered outside the club’s social headquarters at Parque São Jorge in São Paulo on Monday.

They displayed banners and chanted in support of possible judicial intervention in the club’s management.

The protest was organized by the Projeto Time do Povo group and had been scheduled in advance.

It was not prompted by Corinthians’ 4-1 loss to Palmeiras on Sunday or by the hiring of coach Clarence Seedorf.

Last December, the São Paulo state prosecutor’s office opened an investigation into whether judicial intervention at the club was needed.

A prosecutor cited 25 reasons for opening an inquiry or pursuing a public civil action.

Corinthians appealed and asked for the investigation to be suspended, while the prosecutor’s office disputed the club’s arguments.

The investigation’s outcome is not stated.
