Chinmayi Sripaada says praise for Nana Patekar should acknowledge misconduct allegations
Singer Chinmayi Sripaada has backed fellow singer Sona Mohapatra in challenging tributes to actor Nana Patekar.
Patekar died in Goa on October 8, aged 75, from cardiac arrest.
Mohapatra shared a comment from an assistant director who said they witnessed alleged sexual misconduct on film sets where Patekar was present.
Chinmayi said people praising him should acknowledge the allegations and that the behaviour was not a one-time occurrence.
Actor Tanushree Dutta had accused Patekar of sexual harassment on the set of the 2009 film Horn 'Ok' Pleassss, and made the allegation public in 2018.
Patekar denied the allegations, and the case was closed in 2019 for lack of sufficient evidence; a court dismissed the criminal proceedings in 2025 because the complaint was filed beyond the legal time limit.
The accounts do not describe any further legal action.
