Vaidehi urges protection of Kannada poetry from AI influence

Writer Vaidehi called for protecting Kannada poetry from AI's growing influence at a poetry festival in Mysuru, India.

She made the appeal while opening the five-day Bahurupi Kavigoshti, held as part of the Dasara festival at the University of Mysore.

Vaidehi said poetry can endure across time and traced its beginnings to a mother's lullaby.

She also argued that simple words can carry deep meaning, without the need for elaborate expressions.

The festival brings together humour, young, budding and folk poets, alongside a main poetry session.

Sessions are scheduled through October 17, with the young poets' gathering set for October 14.
