Police search in Hettstedt ends without arrests

Police and a special operations unit searched a home on the outskirts of Hettstedt, in Germany’s Mansfeld-Südharz district, on Sunday evening.

Officers had received information that unknown people might have entered the house and could still be inside.

They surrounded the building and called in the special unit based on further leads.

The operation included an armoured vehicle that drew residents’ attention.

The search found no suspects, and investigators said there was apparently no break-in.

No one was arrested or injured.

Police are checking whether the incident may be linked to other home burglaries in Hettstedt.

They have not released further details while the investigation continues.
