Predators acquire Jayden Struble from Canadiens for 2027 second-round pick
The Nashville Predators acquired defenseman Jayden Struble from the Montreal Canadiens on Friday.
Montreal will receive a 2027 second-round draft pick, originally owned by the Vegas Golden Knights.
Struble, 25, played 174 games for the Canadiens and recorded seven goals and 35 points.
He had been a healthy scratch often over the past two seasons, limiting his opportunities in Montreal.
The move gives Nashville more defensive depth; it had also added Montreal prospect William Trudeau off waivers earlier in the week.
For Montreal, the draft pick adds to its future selections and gives the team more flexibility ahead of the March 1 trade deadline.
