Commanders do not save headset communications, Quinn says

Washington Commanders coach Dan Quinn said the team does not specifically record and save its headset communications.

He was asked about the practice on Monday, a day after Washington mishandled the final seconds of overtime against the New York Giants.

Quinn said the team writes up what happened and reviews conversations, situations and game film.

He also said the team can simulate communications as part of its review.

Saving the actual conversations would give teams a record of what coaches said during a game.

The story argues that this could help owners establish what happened when a team makes a serious mistake.

Quinn did not say that Washington plans to start saving the recordings.

We do a writeup and then go back and review conversations, situations, the film, and the R&D department goes along with that.
