Rookie David Bailey leads Jets to 17-12 win over Browns

The New York Jets beat the Cleveland Browns 17-12 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Sunday.

The win ended the Jets’ three-game losing streak.

Rookie pass rusher David Bailey led the defense with three sacks, eight quarterback pressures and seven tackles.

The Jets sacked Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson eight times and held Cleveland to 198 total yards.

Bailey, the second overall pick in the 2026 draft, had two sacks in his first four games, but those plays had little impact.

He became the first Jets rookie since Hugh Douglas in 1995 to record three sacks in one game.

The win came after criticism of Bailey’s quiet start and a poor defensive showing in the previous game.
