Quentin Tarantino to write and direct first play, starring Sacha Baron Cohen
Quentin Tarantino has written his first play, The Popinjay Cavalier, and will also direct it.
The comedy is set in 1830s Europe and draws on old Hollywood swashbuckling stories.
Sacha Baron Cohen will play the title character.
The play is scheduled to open at London’s Phoenix Theatre, with previews starting on 23 February 2027 and performances running from 18 March to 13 June.
The full cast has not yet been announced.
Sony Pictures Entertainment and Sonia Friedman Productions are producing the show.
It marks Tarantino’s first move into writing for the stage, and ticket sales are already open.
