Stewie Griffin Appeared in a 2009 Episode of Bones
In a 2009 episode of the Fox drama Bones, animated Family Guy character Stewie Griffin appears to FBI agent Seeley Booth.
Booth is preparing to donate sperm so forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan can have a baby.
Only Booth can see or hear Stewie, who disrupts an interrogation and helps reveal Booth’s doubts about the plan.
At the end of the episode, viewers learn that Booth has a brain tumor, which caused the visions.
Actor and Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane voiced Stewie in the episode.
He said the Bones team had helped Family Guy film live-action scenes, so the crossover was a way to return the favor.
Family Guy later featured a cameo by Bones actor David Boreanaz in a 2010 Christmas episode.
Stewie Griffin appeared in the 25th episode of Bones Season 4, “The Critic and the Cabernet.”
The episode aired in May 2009 and featured Seth MacFarlane voicing Stewie.
Stewie appears in visions seen only by Seeley Booth, who is later found to have a brain tumor.
The Bones team asked for the crossover after working with the Family Guy team on live-action segments.
Family Guy returned the favor in a 2010 Christmas episode featuring David Boreanaz.
