Ceuta troops will miss Spain’s National Day parade as they remain deployed

Spain’s National Day parade is due to take place in Madrid on Monday, 12 October.

About 4,380 soldiers are expected to take part, alongside aircraft, helicopters and military vehicles.

No troops from Ceuta will march because its forces remain deployed in the city after a territorial incident on 30 July.

The parade will include three 8x8 Dragón armored vehicles, a model that has faced delays and problems in delivery to the Army.

Melilla will be represented by its Regulares unit.

The event will also feature the royal family and mark Spain’s National Day.

The parade is scheduled to run along Madrid’s Paseo del Prado and Paseo de Recoletos.
