Un proyecto educativo del PP propone un MIR docente y tres años de Bachillerato
A group of experts commissioned by Spain’s People’s Party (PP) drafted an alternative education law in 2020, when Pablo Casado led the party.
The proposal was meant to accompany the PP’s opposition to the education law promoted by the Socialist-led government, but the party did not present it.
The draft, named for the late PP education politician Eugenio Nasarre, is now due to be published as a book by its authors.
It calls for education focused on responsibility, merit and effort, and proposes changes including a teacher-training system modeled on medical residency and three years of Bachillerato, Spain’s upper secondary stage.
The authors have added proposals to address changes since 2020, including the growth of online learning and artificial intelligence and shifts in student demographics.
They have sent the text to PP leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo, whose party says it would seek a broad agreement with the education community and replace the current law if it came to power.
The PP says it plans to begin meetings with teachers, families, specialists and experts in October.

If they do not publish it, we will.
The Government of Feijóo will become an arbiter of the educational community and, when the new text becomes a reality, we will repeal the Lomloe.
