18-year-old takes a bus in Bremen after posing as its replacement driver

An 18-year-old took a bus in Bremen on Sunday after telling the driver at the central station that he was there to take over.

He drove with several passengers on board, away from the planned route and through the city’s west.

The bus company tracked the vehicle by GPS, and police stopped it; no passengers were injured.

The young man had also taken a bus in 2024, when he was 15, after claiming to be an intern.

Police have filed complaints over unauthorised use of a vehicle and driving without a licence.

Police investigations are continuing, and officers handed him over to his aunt.
