SNL mocks Trump over Nobel loss and Hegseth’s planned livestreamed execution

Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update criticized President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in a segment that aired Saturday.

The Nobel Peace Prize went to South African human rights lawyer and judge Navanethem “Navi” Pillay, who investigated war crimes for the United Nations and the International Criminal Court.

Colin Jost joked that Trump was upset about losing the award, after Trump said the recipient was someone “no one has ever heard of.”

Michael Che also made jokes about Hegseth’s announcement that a firing squad execution planned for December would be livestreamed.

The execution concerns the Fort Hood mass shooter, according to the show’s segment.

The planned livestream drew criticism in the comedy segment, but no further details about the plan were given.

Weekend Update also joked about a Utah data center project that is still being built but has been downsized after public and state lawmaker pushback.
