Tomoyuki Matsushita sets 400-meter individual medley world record
Tomoyuki Matsushita of Japan set a world record in the men’s 400-meter individual medley at the national championships in Saga, southwestern Japan.
He finished in 3 minutes, 54.33 seconds, beating the previous record by 0.48 seconds.
The previous mark had been set in 2019 by fellow Japanese swimmer Daiya Seto, who did not reach the final.
