Citroen unveils electric 2CV concept, with a showroom version planned by 2028

Citroen has unveiled an electric concept car that revives the name and look of its classic 2CV at the Paris Motor Show.

The original 2CV, launched in 1948, was a simple, affordable car designed for French farmers and rural drivers.

It stayed in production for more than 40 years and later became a cult classic.

The new concept is a small city car, with design features that recall the original, including high wheel arches and a curved roof.

Citroen plans to have a version in showrooms by 2028, and expects it to cost less than £15,000.

European carmakers are using familiar designs to make electric cars more appealing as they face growing competition from Chinese manufacturers.

The concept's design may change before a production model is ready.
