Star Trek Collection to Reprint Original ‘City on the Edge of Forever’ Comic
IDW Publishing will release Star Trek: The Edges of the Final Frontier: IDW Classic Collection on October 13.
It includes a reprint of a 2015 comic adaptation of Harlan Ellison’s original screenplay for “The City on the Edge of Forever.”
The screenplay differed considerably from the version that aired on television.
In the episode, Dr. McCoy travels through a time portal and changes Earth’s history, so Captain Kirk and Spock follow him to Depression-era New York.
Kirk falls in love with Edith Keeler, but her survival would change the future, and Kirk must stop McCoy from saving her.
