NCAA Division I Cross Country Archive Covers Results From 1938 to 2025

The NCAA Division I cross country championships bring college runners together each autumn to compete for team and individual titles.

The men’s championship began in 1938, and the women’s in 1981.

An archive now covers both competitions through 2025, with full results, statistics and photos of individual winners.

The season’s regular, conference and regional meets lead toward the national championships.

Formal qualification through district, later regional, meets began in 1972.

The races have changed distance over time, and since 2012 the championship has been held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.

The 2020 meet was postponed until March 15, 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
