Two bridges complete coastal road link to Koyಿಲанди harbour

Two bridges have completed a coastal road link to Koyilandy harbour in Kerala, connecting it with Kollam Angadi.

The route passes coastal communities and beaches, including Kollam, Arayankavu and Gurukulam beach.

The bridges cost ₹1.16 crore, funded by the Harbour Engineering department.

The road gives local fishing communities direct access to the harbour without using the national highway.

It can also serve as an alternative for small vehicles when traffic between Kollam and Koyilandy is disrupted.

The coastal route beyond the harbour is not fully motorable: the road from Ezhukudikkal to Kappad remains in poor condition, with damage from sea erosion.
