China warns it will respond to measures tied to claims of overcapacity

The U.S. brought together officials from 14 economies to issue a statement about what it called structural overcapacity and excess production.

China said concerns about industrial capacity should be judged fairly, not used to justify trade protectionism.

It warned that measures harming Chinese interests would disrupt trade and supply chains, and said it would respond if they were taken.
