PNV says it will not join a bloc and rules out backing Vox
Maribel Vaquero, the PNV’s spokesperson in Spain’s Congress, said the Basque party would not join a political bloc after the November 29 election.
She said the PNV would judge decisions by what is best for people in the Basque Country.
Vaquero ruled out supporting Vox and said the party would not back the conservative People’s Party if it followed Vox’s policies.
She also criticized the government for acting as if it had a stable majority and relying too often on decree-laws.
Vaquero said political tension had made it difficult to reach agreements during a legislature that began with a weak majority.
She accused the People’s Party of escalating tensions and said the Socialist Party had not helped enough on some issues.
She also criticized Bildu for usually voting in line with the Socialists, while saying the PNV had focused on Basque self-government and the interests of residents and businesses.
The Basque Nationalist Party (PNV) says it will not join any political bloc after Spain’s 29 November elections.
PNV spokesperson Maribel Vaquero ruled out supporting Vox, saying her party would not back it “not even to inherit.”
Vaquero said the party would decide according to what is best for citizens in the Basque Country.
She criticized the People’s Party (PP) for following Vox’s policies and said the PNV would not support that approach.
Vaquero also blamed political tension and the use of decree-laws for making agreements harder during the current legislature.
