São Paulo exhibitions look back at 30 years of fashion week

Two exhibitions in São Paulo are looking back at the history of São Paulo Fashion Week ahead of its 61st edition.

The shows were curated by Paulo Borges, who created the event.

At the Instituto ViaFoto, stylist and hatmaker Davi Ramos presents looks from 22 brands, with pieces dating from 2002 to 2024.

Each look is paired with a hat made by Ramos and a new portrait by Gustavo Ipolito.

The exhibition also includes images by 18 photographers and features brands from across Brazil.

At the Mula Preta space, photographer Fernanda Calfat presents 63 images from 25 years of work, much of it documenting the fashion week.

Together, the shows preserve the clothes and images, and recognize the people, that have shaped three decades of the event.
