Statistics ministry proposes common method to estimate state GDP

The statistics ministry wants states and union territories to use a common method to estimate GDP based on spending.

It covers household and government spending, investment, inventories and valuables.

The estimates would add to figures already calculated using production and income.

State-level trade estimates are postponed until enough data are available.
