Suspect in Sandra’s killing held after conviction for earlier partner’s murder

Sandra was killed near Toulouse on September 8, after leaving a night shift at the airport.

Her former partner, 54-year-old Antoine Moïse, is suspected in the killing and was found seriously injured after a suicide attempt.

He was charged and placed in pre-trial detention on October 9, after recovering from a coma.

Sandra’s family says it did not know that he had previously been convicted of murdering a former partner in French Guiana in 1999; he was sentenced in 2002.

Sandra had reported harassment, psychological abuse and violations of her privacy in July, and was given an emergency alert phone in early August.

She did not have time to use it when she was killed.

Her parents will raise her daughter, while her father is calling for a law requiring partners to be told about such criminal histories.
