South Korea recalls ambassador amid tensions with Ukraine over North Korean prisoners

Ukraine says two North Korean prisoners wanted to go to South Korea, and it let them travel there.

South Korea is angry that Ukraine made the transfer public, saying it could put the prisoners’ families in North Korea at risk.

The dispute also clashes with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung’s efforts to improve ties with North Korea.

Tensions may make it harder for Ukraine to get military support from South Korea.
