Ağıralioğlu questions planned transfer of Katılımevim and Birevim
Anahtar Party leader Yavuz Ağıralioğlu has questioned the process for state-owned Emlak Katılım to take over Katılımevim and Birevim in Turkey.
The approvals for the proposed takeover are still under way.
Ağıralioğlu said public funds are involved and called for details of how the companies were valued and who bought and sold shares.
He cited figures from Turkey’s Central Securities Depository, saying Tera Yatırım’s stake in Katılımevim fell from 47.97% to zero, while Emlak Katılım’s rose from around 1% to 22.493%.
He also asked why these share changes took place before approvals were complete and while the relevant holding company was still being wound up.
The questions matter because Emlak Katılım is part of the Turkey Wealth Fund, according to Ağıralioğlu, and he says the use of public money must be accounted for.
The approval process is continuing, but no answers to his questions are given.
