Police officer killed while trying to stop fight between relatives

A fight broke out between two groups of relatives in Kahramanmaraş.

Police officer Seyfullah Orçan tried to stop it, but he was badly wounded by shotgun fire and later died in hospital.

His cousin, who police say fired the gun, was detained.

The case shows how quickly a family dispute can turn deadly.
