Texas Democrat James Talarico misses campaign events after reporting flu

James Talarico, a Democrat running for the US Senate in Texas, has not appeared in public since September 30.

His campaign says he was diagnosed with the flu and has canceled events, including fundraisers.

Republican opponent Ken Paxton has used Talarico’s absence to demand proof that he is well.

The absence comes during the final stretch of a closely watched campaign.
