Ayuso alleges possible election fraud ahead of 29 November vote

Isabel Díaz Ayuso, president of the Madrid region and a leader of the opposition People’s Party, has raised concerns about the elections scheduled for 29 November.

At a party campaign event in Madrid, she accused Spain’s central government of possibly trying to influence the vote.

She pointed to the 2023 general election, saying some people did not receive postal ballots or received them late.

The article gives no evidence that the government interfered in that election.

Ayuso also accused the government of weakening democratic rules and urged people to pay attention.

She said People’s Party leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo would restore respect for the law if his party takes power.

The elections are due on 29 November.
